A couple of years ago Lucille Johnson gave a talk on marriage relationships and I wrote down what she said about the five things men need and the five things women need most from each other. There can be so many challenges in having a happy marriage that I have loved this advice and try to keep it in mind. It's not one size fits all but is pretty basic and you can tailor it to your specific situation. For instance, if both have careers, then both should share the domestic chores. There was a time after Dave graduated before he got a job that I worked full time and he was home with Ben and Kristen (4 and 2). It was a good experience for both of us.
Although we can drive each other crazy once in a while, we both know that we are each other's top priority.
Here's to love and happy marriages!

I have to admit you are my Princess and I will always protect you with my big muscles.
oh precious! Kevin says it sounds right on the ball, and I'd have to agree, he says he really appreciates coming home to a clean house, it definitely reduces stress. and I really appreciate him bringing home the bacon, of course we both help on both ends. We want to work to have as good a marriage as you too. You make it look so easy! :)
nice comment on top. I take it that is from your big muscle-y prince in shining armor! Good advice and cute pics of both of you on this one and the last one when you went on your hiking date.
Hi! I don't know if you remember me, but I was friends with Ben and Kristen back in the day... Anyhow, I found your blog from Kristen's blog and I just loved this post. You know, I always loved being in your home. I remember coming in one time with Ben and you and your husband were sitting on the couch talking. I am not sure what it was, but something about that simple instance really impressed me. I always just felt a really happy feeling whenever I was there. I am glad to see that you guys are doing well!
